Dance Classes

Levels

With the advancement to each level, the dancer begins more ‘serious’ training, appropriate to their physical and intellectual maturity. 
Level I     ​The level I dancer is an advanced beginner or graduate of our elementary program.
Level II     Low intermediate, having completed Level I syllabus.
Level III     Intermediate, having completed Levels I & II syllabus.
Level IV     Advanced, having successfully completed Levels I, II & III syllabus and two years pointe technique.

Acrobatics

Floor work only. Students learn the proper technique and develop flexibility for tumbling from beginner to advanced (i.e. forward/backward rolls, backbends, cartwheels, handstands, handstand  backbend and many more) as they progress through the years.
DRESS CODE
Dark colored leotard, pink, suntan or black tights.

Pointe

Dancers are promoted to pointe work at age 11, and after completion of Level I and II ballet syllabus. Dancers who attend pointe class must attend a minimum of two ballet technique classes per week on a regular basis
DRESS CODE
Dark colored leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, pointe shoes. Ballet skirts are acceptable for Ballet/Pointe.

Tap

Our Tap Program is based on the Al Gilbert Tap Syllabus. The Al Gilbert Graded Tap System simply makes teaching tap easy. There are 10 levels in all beginning with simple shuffles and flaps and progressing to more advanced wings and pullbacks. Each step is broken down in a systematic, fool-proof way making learning exact and easy. Each level builds upon steps that have been learned in previous levels. This syllabus routinely and properly trains each dancer to advance from beginning exercises to advanced combinations with ease.

Jazz

Includes: fast, street, theater, lyrical, contemporary jazz style based syllabus.
DRESS CODE 
Dark colored leotard, pink, suntan or black tights, tan or black jazz shoes. Black jazz pants, camisole shirts, and shirts which form to the body, are acceptable for tap, jazz, modern and hip hop (sneakers)

Baggy shirts, baggy pants, sweat pants, sweatshirts, or shorts are not acceptable.  When purchasing leotards please make sure they are comfortable.
  • Hair must be neat and secured off the face and neck.
  • No dangling earrings, necklaces, bracelets or watches. 
  • Please label dancewear and belongings with your name and phone number.

Our season runs from September through early June, with our annual showcase performances at the end of May. 
We are closed on Thanksgiving Day, the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Classes are held on all other days including Monday holidays.
